- Are you an outgoing, patient, and creative individual who loves working with young children?
- We're looking for a fun, energetic Art Teacher to lead engaging art classes and camps for small groups of children ages 5–7 at our locally owned art studio.
About Us
Omega Arts is a small, independently owned art studio that values creativity and our local artist community. We offer a variety of hands-on art experiences for children, including:
- Drawing
- Painting
- Simple crafts
- Seasonal art projects
- Art camps

Position Details
- Part-time position
- Flexible schedule based on class and camp times
- Small groups, typically 4–10 children per instructor
- Small class sizes allow for individual attention and interaction
- Classes typically run 60–90 minutes
- Camps may run for a full day
Responsibilities
As an Art Teacher, you will:
- Teach art in a lively, age-appropriate, and engaging way
- Manage a small group of children with patience, warmth,and clear instructions
- Adapt projects and instructions for different ages and skill levels
- Manage classroom behavior, redirect attention, and calmly handle challenging moments
- Keep children focused, engaged, and safe throughout each session
- Communicate briefly and professionally with parents at drop-off and pickup when needed
- Maintain a safe and supervised environment throughout each session
Additional Opportunities
Depending on availability and experience, additional opportunities may include:
- Leading school-break and summer day camps
- Staffing family-friendly community events and festivals
- Teaching special workshops and seasonal programs
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Warm, patient, and enthusiastic when working with young children
- Comfortable managing a group of children and keeping them engaged
- Skilled at communicating instructions simply and clearly
- Comfortable being responsible for a group of children during sessions
- Passionate about art and helping children express their creativity
- Reliable, organized, and attentive to detail
- Comfortable adapting activities when needed
- Experienced in painting, drawing, crafting, or other visual arts
- Experienced working with children; classroom, camp, daycare, or similar experience is strongly preferred
- Able to travel to occasional local off-site events
- Able to provide reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching or working with children in a group setting
- Experience with children's day camps
- CPR certification
- Basic First Aid certification
- College degree in Art, Education, or a related field
- Customer service experience
Requirements
- Must pass a background check
- Must provide at least two references, preferably including references from previous work with children
- New hires will complete a trial class/paid audition before final hiring
- Reliable transportation required for local off-site events
